What you will do:

CGL and Affiliates

  • General legal matters:Owned and leased Property, Regulatory and legislated matters and complianceTrademarksLicensing process and complianceContract negotiation, review and ongoing complianceEtc.
  • Corporate Policies Work with HR on policies procedures, Health and safety and employee relations issuesDeployment of new regulatory and legislative matters Best practice on Data security, including SOC II and Privacy, and adherence to changing legal requirements Etc.
  • Risk ManagementBusiness Continuity ManagementPrivacy OfficerCompliance OfficerManagement of the Whistle blower ChannelAnnual Business Risk Assessment Process and ongoing reporting
  • Maintaining and Managing the Group P&C Insurance Coverage mattersPolicy RenewalClaimsE & O Reporting and oversight
  • Due diligence and M&A activities as required

What you will bring:

  • You’re a certified professional. The successful candidate must have been called to the Bar in Ontario.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience (law firm or in-house)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems
  • Highly focused with attention to detail and ability to collaborate well with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a practical solution-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated superior skill in legal drafting, including agreements and contracts.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and requests.
