The Legal Assistant role supports the day-to-day activities of lawyers within the corporate / wills law practice groups. This role is responsible for document preparation and general practice administration. Responsible for filing of documentation, data entry and data management, correspondence, and calendar management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provides support in the efficient and effective management of the practice including scheduling, greeting clients, file management, documentation management, etc.;
- Prepares drafts and reviews documents;
- Prepares account related documents including docket entries, billing summaries, accounts, etc.;
- Facilitates communication between lawyers, clients and external contacts;
- Completes corporate and commercial files from beginning to end of transaction, completes the drafting of wills and acts as a second witness;
- Keeps abreast of any changes in specialty area and is quickly able to adapt procedures to meet requirements;
- Performs other duties as may be assigned and or required from time to time. :
