Job descriptionPracticing member in good standing with The Law Society of Manitoba and proficiency practicing law. 5+ years’ experience in civil litigation, with a proven track record of handling relevant case law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present arguments clearly and persuasively in court. Proven problem-solving, logical, and deductive reasoning abilities.
Responsibilities :
- Represent clients in all phases of civil litigation, from initial case assessment to trial and appeal.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to develop litigation strategies tailored to client needs.
- Engage in discovery processes, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
- Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolution methods when in the best interest of the client.
- Present cases before judges, juries, and arbitrators, delivering compelling arguments and evidence.
- Collaborate with expert witnesses, investigators, and other professionals to build a strong case.
- Keep clients informed of case developments, providing clear explanations of legal options and outcomes.
