Our Hamilton-based client, a well-established firm with a robust Corporate & Commercial Real Estate practice, is seeking an experienced Corporate / Commercial Real Estate Lawyer to join their team and take on a leadership role. This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside the partners and a team of more than 12 associates, with a strong focus on providing exceptional legal services in both corporate and commercial real estate matters. The ideal candidate will have a 5+ years track record, bringing their own clients and expertise to the firm.
The Role :
As a Corporate / Commercial Real Estate Lawyer, you will be responsible for handling a diverse range of matters, including corporate law, commercial real estate transactions, and mixed corporate-real estate deals. You will be expected to step into a leadership role within the team and contribute to both client development and internal team management. The role is ideal for someone with a book of business who is ready to contribute to the growth of the firm’s Corporate / Commercial Real Estate department.
The position offers an exciting path towards partnership, based on several variables, including performance, client contributions, and team fit. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced partners and associates, contributing to both the firm’s ongoing success and your own career growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and advise clients on corporate law matters, including mergers, acquisitions, shareholder agreements, and general corporate governance.
- Handle complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development.
- Serve as a leader within the team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior associates.
- Leverage existing client relationships while developing new business opportunities for the firm.
- Collaborate closely with partners to enhance the firm’s overall service offerings in both corporate and commercial real estate sectors.
