Currently we have an opening for UG Technical Specialists Manager. The UG Technical Specialists Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the Technical Specialists with a strong focus on technological applications and development in the workplace to support services within Canada. This is done by managing the end-to-end technology implementation, developing and deploying personnel to perform operator and maintenance training as well as facilitating feedback ticket management to the organization through the Technical Specialist team.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the Technical Specialists and provide technical training on proper operation, adjustments, maintenance and troubleshooting practices
  • Responsible for the management and development of the Technical Specialist team’s competency
  • Ensure that our Technical Specialist team’s competence is consistent and aligned with the technologies and product lines installed at customer sites. This includes but limited to BHEV, Load & Haul, Drilling, Automation and Digitalization
  • Ensure that knowledge transfer occurs from the specialist team to the field service and workshop technicians to increase their competencies when required. This support will be in a coaching and mentoring nature for technicians to do the required work at customer sites
  • Provide a path of communication from the parts and service area to the factory through feedback tickets to support development across all product lines
  • Responsible for providing remote support to Field Service Technicians, customers and all product areas when advanced troubleshooting and application knowledge is required
  • Develop customer training modules or packages that Sandvik can offer and ensure that it is documented by the Training and Competence Development Manager
  • Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues as needed
  • Report and participate in monthly financial meetings and actively develop ideas to support growth

What you will bring along

:

  • Red Seal qualification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or an Electrician
  • Formal education in training and assessment considered an asset

:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of various skill levels in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingualism (English and French) preferred
  • Ability to conduct presentations, train, and transfer knowledge to others
  • Computer literacy such as Microsoft 365 suite, MySandvik, Maximo considered an asset
  • Ability to travel when required

  • Superior customer relations and active listening skills
  • 4-6 years directly related industry experience
  • System and Technical knowledge of Sandvik product line
  • College / Trade School Diploma / University Degree
