The Opportunity :

The Reality Capture Specialist plays a key role on our national architectural survey team, responsible for capturing and documenting precise existing commercial building conditions using advanced reality capture technologies such as LiDAR, Matterport, Point Clouds, Revit, AutoCAD and more. This position combines hands-on fieldwork with technical production work, utilizing tools such as laser scanning and BIM modeling to deliver high-quality as-built documentation for our clients multi-site / multi-state projects.

The Survey Specialist will join our primarily US-based team, responsible for conducting on-site building surveys across Canada as needed by operating LiDAR scanners and registering point clouds to develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models. This role is also responsibile for documenting key building systems—including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC—while ensuring all data is captured safely and efficiently. Back in the "office", you will translates point cloud data from US and Canada teams into detailed AutoCAD and Revit as-built deliverables and perform quality checks.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

• Operating LIDAR scanning technology and reality capture survey tools (Leica scanner, etc.) to gather precise visual and dimensional data of as-built buildings.
• Registering laser scan point clouds and creating accurate existing condition drawings in REVIT.
• Documenting key building systems, from electrical and mechanical to HVAC and plumbing.
• Preparing clear reports, photo documentation, and quality-checking drawings.
• Supporting field and office teams, helping identify the best methods to capture site data.
• Ensuring safety protocols are followed to protect yourself, the team, and client properties.
• Other duties as assigned.
• This role requires 60-80% national travel, the ability to lift extension ladders, and completing administrative tasks like timesheets and expense reports.

Pay & Benefits : The anticipated compensation range for the position is $28-35 / hr, is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience. This is a contract-to-hire position with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, flexible paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and a matching 401K plan.
