Wage rate : $36.60 per hour, 30 hours per week Eligibility : No specific education is required but is an asset 1 or more years of related landscape work experience English language Must possess a valid BC Drivers License with a clean driving abstract and be capable of safely operating full-size trucks Job Duties and responsibilities Plant and cultivate flowers, shrubs, trees, and grass in private and public lawns and gardens. Maintain gardens and green spaces by performing regular tasks such as watering, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, and mowing. Install and maintain landscaping features, including flower beds, borders, hedges, and decorative elements. Monitor plant health and apply pest control measures, organic or chemical, as needed. Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Prepare soil by digging, mulching, and fertilizing to support optimal plant growth. Trim and shape trees, bushes, and hedges to maintain aesthetic and healthy growth. Remove dead plants, debris, and litter to keep landscaped areas clean and presentable. Follow seasonal schedules for planting, pruning, and general garden upkeep. Communicate with clients or supervisors to understand landscaping preferences and project goals. Assist in the design and layout of landscaping plans, as needed.
