Laboratory Technician
Location : 6660 Campobello Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 2L9 CAN.

Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment files and records for the media preparation room, including service reports and calibration records.
- Document required information for autoclave or masterclave preparation of reagents and media on the designated preparation sheet.
- Participate actively in daily operations within the media preparation room.
- Receive and label materials, following FIFO rules when putting away and using materials and media.
- Prepare media and reagents according to RF and procedure specifications and volume indications by Analyst 2 and Team Lead.
- Adhere to company health and safety policies.
- Report accidents and incidents immediately to Analyst 2, Team Lead, or Lab Supervisor.
- Follow Biosafety and Biosecurity guidelines as defined in CAM WI-00740.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to Analyst 2, Team Lead, and Lab Supervisor.
- Participate in the tainting process within the media preparation room.
- Train new staff on equipment operation and media preparation as needed.
- Maintain personal training profile up to date.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Lab Supervisor.
Qualifications
Work Environment
The role is based in a laboratory setting with adequate lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur. Safety equipment such as gloves, laboratory coat, and eye protection may be required. The position may involve the use of an autoclave and regularly lifting analysis materials.
Pay
$19 CAD per hour.
