Job description
Position Information Position Title Student Lab Support Worker Posting Type Temporary End Date (if applicable) 08/28/2026 Classification Title App G Student Pay Band 1 Min Salary 20.00 Max Salary 20.00 Position Summary Working in the School of Health, Negahneewin & Community Services, the Summer Student – Lab Support Worker will assist in all healthcare related labs (including but not limited to the nursing, MLA, Dental, paramedics labs and spaces). Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Organizing and maintaining the medical lab supplies and equipment;
- Preparing for the School of Health and Community labs;
- Completing annual lab inventory; Updating MSDS sheets;
- Assisting with completing Health and Safety lab manuals; and
- Working in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Excellent organizational, communication, comprehension, and time management skills; and
- Basic knowledge of medical equipment and supplies is an asset
- Must be a full-time post-secondary student at Confederation College in the 2025-2026 academic year (minimum – attending entire winter 2026 semester). Full-time is defined as having a minimum 60% course load, or 40% if you have a permanent disability.
- Must be returning to Confederation College as a full-time post-secondary student in September 2026
- If domestic, must be approved for OSAP, or complete the needs score spreadsheet to demonstrate a financial need
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident protected person, or an international student who is legally eligible to work in Canada;
- Students must be within the School’s programs including Nursing (PSW, PN, BScN), MLA/MLS, Dental, paramedics, MRT programs in the program in the 2025-26 academic year
