What your daily worload would look like on our team...

Under the supervision of the Academic Dean and the Assistant Academic Dean and in accordance with departmental regulations, teachers work collaboratively with members of their department. They are responsible for delivering high-quality, well-informed instruction that aligns with the policies and values of the cégep. They implement sound classroom management practices to ensure a learning environment that is conducive to student success at the college level.

More specifically, the teacher:

  • Designs course outlines in accordance with the Cégep’s policies and ministerial guidelines;
  • Develops course content and teaching strategies aligned with course objectives, respecting institutional and ministerial course frameworks and adapted to student needs;
  • Determines evaluation methods in accordance with institutional, program, and departmental rules;
  • Teaches classes according to the established schedule;
  • Corrects student assignments and exams within required deadlines;
  • Keeps their disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge up to date;
  • Provides high-quality support and availability—proportional to their teaching load—to help students in their learning;
  • Builds and maintains a positive pedagogical relationship with students;
  • Contributes to departmental life in proportion to their teaching load: attends department meetings, assumes a share of departmental tasks, participates in in-service days organized by the college, etc.;
  • Participates in various institutional committees when required (e.g., program committee, program evaluation or revision committee);
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

Do you recognize yourself in this description ?

Education and experience :

  • Undergraduate university degree (Bachelor’s) related to English language or culture, English teaching, or another related discipline;
  • Mastery of English (C2 to native level);
  • Solid command of spoken and written French;
  • Teaching skills acquired through experience or training are considered an asset.
