Job Description :
The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in furthering the analytics agenda for the Specialized Accounting group with a strong focus on detailed variance analysis, creating and maintaining reporting and influencing people in the organization to drive behavioral change with the implementation of our new ERP system.
This role also will be part of the critical transformation of our capital asset processes from beginning to end and help evolve to a more efficient and user friendly process with strong focus on accurate and timely reporting.
Key Job Responsibilities (up to a maximum of 10)
Execute and improve on financial models / tools / processes to support Operations and Corporate groups monthly and quarterly reporting processes
Co-lead a company-wide project to transform our capital asset processes from beginning to end
Work with existing resources post-project implementation to identify reporting requirements, develop reports and complete training with different working groups
Be able to recognize and implement continuous improvements
Assist management with oversight of accountants’ work and reconciliations to drive quality in the department
Mentoring of junior staff members, including review of work and coaching through technical and soft skills
Assist management with accounting research
Provide general close support / accruals
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Education and / or Experience Required (including certifications)
Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline, along with extensive related experience is required
A CPA designation is required
Five plus years of related financial experience
Required Skills / Abilities
Must be highly analytical with sound business judgment, proven documentation skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated organizational, planning, time management, computer, and communication (oral and written) skills
Demonstrated passion for learning and acquiring new skills
Excellent strategic, lateral thinking, planning, and problem solving skills with the capacity to effectively plan, develop, implement and evaluate administrative and operating systems
Problem solving skills with a natural curiosity for root cause analysis to identify solutions
Project management experience
Confidence and assertiveness to enforce the financial guidelines while still maintaining rapport
Ability to deal with confidential information that may not be shared inside and outside the organization.
Passion to provide excellent customer service

Ability to sit for long periods of time
Prolonged use of computer
