The ABC Future Screen Developer Program is an exciting opportunity for mid-career screen practitioners ready to step into development and commissioning and shape a screen industry that reflects the full diversity of our communities.

The ABC Future Screen Developer Program is a paid 12-month program designed to fast-track the next generation of screen development leaders and create clear pathways into commissioning and production decision-making roles.

About the program

The ABC Screen Development Program is an initiative aimed at strengthening and diversifying the future of Australias screen industry.

Over the 12-month program participants will gain hands-on experience across key areas of ABC Screen working with teams in scripted and unscripted content across all formats and genres : drama comedy entertainment and documentary and specialist content. Through these rotations trainees will develop a strong understanding of how ideas are shaped assessed and progressed across genresfrom concept through to production.

We recognise that lived experience matters. This program is designed to support individuals whose voices perspectives and career pathways have not always had equitable access to development and commissioning roleshelping to build a stronger more representative pipeline of creative leaders.

The program requires you to be based in Sydney however we encourage applicants from interstate who are open to relocating to Sydney to apply. Some support may be available to assist with relocation costs (travel) and shortterm accommodation.
