Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Life Safety Technician to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to start or build a career in the fire and life safety industry. The successful candidate will work closely with senior technicians to perform inspections, maintenance, and service of fire protection and life safety systems.
Training will be provided, and there are excellent opportunities for growth and certification advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and suppression systems.
Support senior technicians in performing service work on sprinkler and special hazard systems.
Complete field documentation, inspection reports, and service tags accurately and on time.
Participate in company safety meetings and follow all health and safety procedures.
Report hazards, near misses, and incidents as part of Total Group’s safety culture.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or trades background an asset).
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and comfortable working on ladders or in various site environments.
Preferred (but not required) :
Experience in fire protection, safety, or mechanical trades.
OFA Level 1 or safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space) are assets.
