Position : Administrative Assistant - Junior (FOIP Unit)
Position Summary
This role supports the FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy) Unit in processing information access requests efficiently and in accordance with legislation. You will manage administrative tasks to ensure timely and accurate handling of FOIP requests submitted to the Government of Alberta and supported agencies.
Key Responsibilities
FOIP Request Processing :
- Monitor incoming FOIP requests via hard copy and the FOIP System Public Portal.
- Prepare draft correspondence (acknowledgment letters, requests for details, fee requests, closure notifications).
- Review all correspondence and request information for completeness and accuracy before forwarding.
- Coordinate with FOIP Coordinator to assign requests to FOIP Advisors.

Mandatory Requirements
Education :
Required : High School Diploma / GED
Preferred : Post-secondary education in Office Administration
Experience :
Experience in an Information Management environment working with records / documents.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Customer service experience, including communication with clients.
Nice-to-Have Experience
1 year of experience in a Canadian Public Sector organization.
1 year of experience in information management, privacy, and security.
2 years of relevant experience in similar administrative roles.
