Responsibilities :

  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program
  • Perform tasks as required on construction site
  • Operate and maintain small tools
  • Check excavators, bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy construction equipment proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools such as harvesting and tillage equipment, blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
  • May perform repair work on heavy trucks and pick-up trucks
  • Requirements :

  • Journeyman / Red Seal mechanic (4th year may be considered with relevant experience)
  • Ability to take and follow instruction
  • Professional demeanor when dealing with the public
  • Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently when required
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Valid provincial drivers license
  • Assets :

  • Recent working experience in similar role
  • Journeyman ticket
  • Air brake endorsement
  • Commercial vehicle inspector ticket
  • First aid training
  • This position is compensated at an hourly rate between $40 - $45 depending on experience. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period.
