We are looking for a part-time Houseperson / Janitor to add to our team.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Houseperson / Janitorial position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of all public areas. They move quickly and organize their tasks according to business volumes to ensure that the hotel always looks its best. They are passionate about serving others and working as a team with associates from all departments. Ensuring all guest areas are cleaned and maintained to the standards set by the hotel using the correct cleaning techniques and cleaning agents.
This position includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
The specific responsibilities of the Houseperson / Janitorial position will vary depending on the needs of the properties. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following areas.
- Completes all assigned cleaning duties in designated areas
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using both step and extension ladders
- Wipes glass, pictures, windows and public phone areas, elevators, gym facilities and vending area.
- Cleans grounds and parking lots of litter, glass, or other debris
- Loads and unloads supplies, and moves equipment using dollies or handcarts
- Shampoos carpets
- Keeps all hallways and public areas clean, neat, swept and vacuumed
- Clears ash urns, garbage cans
- Removes gum, wall spots and floor spots with appropriate cleaning chemicals
- Responsible for vacuuming floors, dusting and emptying garbage / recycling bins in office areas
- Reports all lost and found items to supervisor immediately
- Cleans public restrooms and replaces products
- May perform ground maintenance including removal of snow from sidewalks, salting
walkways, mowing small areas of grass, trimming shrubs, etc., at an office site

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is a hotel setting, which has the following conditions : medium-high noise environment; high traffic area for internal guests, exposure to moving parts and equipment such as vacuum, steam cleaner, washer, and dryer. Potential exposure to theft and / or belligerent guests. Exposure to chemicals. Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment. Exposure to sharps and biohazards.
