Job Description
T ESX & vCenter v6 and above, SQL Server, IIS, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Evaluates and recommends solutions; plans and executes implementation; including installation and management of hardware, operating systems and applications with the objective of providing robust and stable operating platforms; develop, monitor, and enforce security policies as they relate to the various systems, ensuring design of systems allow all components to work properly together.
- Performs troubleshooting and analysis for issue resolution of numerous systems, including Exchange On-Line, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, printing problems; implement corrective actions and recommend operational improvements.
- Accepts escalated tickets in a timely fashion and troubleshoot all incidents to bring restoration of service as quickly as possible.
- Follows established escalation procedures when resolution cannot be obtained within a reasonable amount of time.
- Coordinates assigned service requests to meet requesting department dates within established department standards.
- Participates in systems backup and disaster recovery.
- Diagnoses and correlates complex systems problems, identify root causes, and develop remediation strategies.
- Performs daily system monitoring and verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server, and storage systems; including response when an incident originates with a monitoring alarm.
- Ensures proper controls are designed into systems, monitor emerging threats and assess risks; maintains familiarity with standard privacy, security, communications, and systems management protocols.
- Occasionally travels to other worksites to assist with IT issues as needed.
- Works alongside our existing IT team of Tier 1, 2 & 3 support staff, based in both Fiji, NZ and USA to support our internal customers.
- Actively participates in initiatives such as 7S and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems; a minimum of 3 years in an IT support role.
