Robert Half has an exciting 12 month contract for a Senior Internal Auditor. The ideal candidate will come from the mining industry and demonstrate the capability to lead and supervise complex the Health & Safety Environment, and Community (HSEC) as well as operational audits. They will collaborate with management at all levels and operate effectively as part of a global team. Exceptional English communication skills, analytical thinking, and adaptability in dynamic environments are essential for success in this role. Onsite, 2-3 days / week in Toronto downtown.Key Responsibilities : Lead and supervise comprehensive and high-risk audits, including HSEC and operational audits, specific to the mining / extractives industry.Identify, evaluate, and report on significant operational risks, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives.Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with management at all levels to address internal control gaps and risk exposures.Continuously develop expertise in the company's operations and stay informed about industry developments.Produce high-quality audit reports that clearly articulate audit objectives, findings, and recommendations within agreed timelines.Foster collaboration within a global audit team, demonstrating enthusiasm and a solutions-oriented mindset.Coordinate and manage global audit assignments with up to 30% travel worldwide.Qualifications : Minimum of 10 years of Internal Audit experience in the mining industry a must.Deep understanding of industry-specific risks, including operational and HSEC risks.Proven experience leading and managing complex audits, preferably across multinational companies.Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong interpersonal and analytical skills complemented by critical thinking.Consistently delivers high-quality work while meeting deadlines in time-sensitive, flexible environments.Demonstrates strong team collaboration skills with a positive and resourceful attitude.Motivated to operate as part of a global team and learn continuously about the organization and industry.Must hold a valid passport and work permit for Canada.Skills & Characteristics : Resourceful, detail-oriented, and operationally excellent.Flexible to adapt to changing structures while maintaining a consistent, enthusiastic work ethic.Displays confidence and professionalism when interacting with senior leadership.Passionate about teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.Demonstrated ability to manage global travel successfully while maintaining productivity. : Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA.Familiarity with international audit standards and frameworks.Advanced knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and compliance strategies.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
