A fast-paced Calgary based group ofpanies seeks someone to focus on financial planning and analysis as a Financial Analyst for a single family office and supporting the director of Finance and portfolio manager.
Your new role
Update of the financial forecasts for the existing investments in Canada and overseas
Build, maintain and manage financial models for public and private investments with the director of Finance
Must be able to manage and maintain a research universe of coverage and database of portfoliopanies
Conduct supervised due diligence and portfolio monitoring under a Portfolio Manager and director of Finance
Assist the CFO in his duties of developing financial reports for the Principals and Fund Manager
Monthly valuation of private investments for NAV calculation
Reconciliation of the financial statements between various direct and indirect subsidiaries
Consolidation of the financial statements for the renewable holdingpany
Financial analysis of potential investments / acquisitions
Monitoring the financial markets daily, as part of a portfolio management team
Executing trades in the public and private markets for the portfolio management team
Generating market reports for the portfolio management investment team
Assisting the VP Finance
CFO with annual audits and capital raising discussions
Additional finance related assignments as required
Expected to be able to work full capital market hours, from an office setting at minimum from 7am to 5 : 30 PM MST, and may be expected to work later as necessary depending on deadlines and deliverables for trades or project deadlines
What you'll need to succeed
Undergraduate degree in business / accounting / finance
CFA designation or equivalent, or demonstrated intention to obtain CFA designation.
At least 5 years of financial planning and analysis experience
Strong understanding of IFRS
Professional and self-motivated
Able to work in a team environment or independently as required
Excellent MS Office skills
Ability to prioritize job functions under stressful circumstances
Willing to work in / relocate to Calgary, Alberta, Canada
