Dawson GroupKamloops, BCis looking for a Business Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in identifying growth opportunities, securing projects, and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders including indigenous communities.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a permanent, full-time position of Business Development Manager, reporting to the Manager of Civil . Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Develops and implements a comprehensive business development opportunity strategy that integrates with the overall strategic plan across Dawson.
- Explores opportunities for local businesses to participate in projects as suppliers, subcontractors, or partners. Ensure fair procurement practices that support economic development.
- Conducts thorough market research to identify potential opportunities with road construction and maintenance projects.
- Stays informed about local and regional infrastructure development plans and funding opportunities.
- Collaborates with experts to conduct comprehensive assessments of potential project impacts on stakeholder communities.
- Implements sustainable practices in road construction and maintenance to minimize ecological impacts on the environment.
- Ensures that the company's commitment to indigenous relations is reflected in all activities.
- Demonstrates a long-term commitment to stakeholder relations throughout the project lifecycle. Maintains ongoing consultation and collaboration to address evolving needs.
- Maintains transparency in all interactions with stakeholders. Provides regular reports on project progress, including updates on environmental and social performance.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and agreements related to indigenous rights and land use. This may include negotiating impact benefit agreements (IBAs) when appropriate.
- Actively engages with indigenous leaders, elders, and community members to build trust and establish open lines of communication. Attends community meetings, participates in consultation processes, and address concerns.
