The Role :
Our client is looking to add a Senior Underwriter to their growing team. This person will be responsible for profitably managing and expanding a portfolio of commercial property & casualty business across the Prairie Region. The role will focus on Casualty, P&C Package, Umbrella, and Excess Liability lines. In addition to underwriting responsibilities, this individual will provide mentorship to junior team members and help drive broker engagement and regional strategy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Underwrite new and renewal commercial P&C business in line with profitability and risk standards
- Collaborate with risk services, actuarial, and claims teams to ensure sound underwriting decisions
- Support growth by maintaining a strong broker pipeline and identifying cross-sell opportunities
- Ensure proper exposure analysis, documentation, and adherence to underwriting guidelines
- Mentor and coach team members to support technical and professional development
- Develop and maintain strong broker and client relationships
- Collaborate on complex multi-line accounts and support differentiated go-to-market strategies
- Contribute to the evolution of underwriting processes and adoption of new systems and tools
