Job descriptionFollow all safety rules and maintain behaviour-based safety practices, adhering to the Life Saving Rules. Use effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Work safely and productively as part of a team under supervision. Work within precise limits, following specifications and drawings. Apply mathematical formulas to solve problems. Interpret and use CSA, ISA, and API standards and practices. Inspect meters, gauges, and indicators for abnormalities. Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gauges, and other instruments, using appropriate test equipment. Trace and test electronic circuits and components to locate faults. Use schematics and manuals for maintenance and troubleshooting. Remove, decontaminate, disassemble, clean, and replace defective instruments and parts. Reassemble and calibrate instruments according to standards. Record calibrations, parts used, and inventory. Prepare schematic drawings and reports of modifications. Perform other duties as required. Completion of 4-year Apprenticeship with Journeyperson Certification or evidence of at least 6,120 hours of related experience. 3-5 years of experience in industrial construction, maintenance, fabrication, or repair, preferably offshore. Demonstrated competence in the trade. Required offshore safety certificates and training (asset) : Basic Survival Training including HUET and HUEBA, Rigging, Slinging, Banksman, H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, Offshore Safety Awareness, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, First Aid. Pass site-specific drug, alcohol, and medical tests. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely. Perform duties requiring strength and stamina. Work in confined spaces following proper protocols. Work 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures, with possible overtime. Climb and work at heights safely using fall arrest procedures. Meet physical demands of walking, climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and crawling during shifts.

Wood is currently accepting applications for Instrumentation Technician Journeyperson - Adhoc personnel with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This role will be located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. This will be a casual call-out role. The successful candidate will be willing and eligible to travel offshore via helicopter or supply vessel.
As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing measuring and control devices (electric, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic) used in industrial processing. You should be able to read, understand, and follow drawings and specifications, and work with power, pneumatic, electronic, and hand tools. Work may involve confined spaces, heights, noisy conditions, indoors or outdoors, and extreme temperatures.

- Hours of work : 12 hours per day
- Rotation / work pattern : Call out, as needed
- Required : Site-specific medical, drug and alcohol testing
- Unionized position : Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement
