We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP, Information Technology to lead our technology strategy and drive innovation across our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our information technology infrastructure, systems, and operations, ensuring they support our business objectives and position us for long-term success in a rapidly evolving digital world.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

  • Own 24X7 helpdesk, DevOps, and support for our corporate IT systems.
  • Partner with compliance and other functions as required.
  • Oversee and support software applications critical to business operations, ensuring they are effectively integrated, aligned with business needs and IT processes, and optimized for user productivity and process efficiency.
  • Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's overall technology strategy in alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Ensure technology investments drive competitive advantage and long-term value for Varicent.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and trends that can provide strategic advantages and enhance our competitive position.
  • Articulate the desired end state for the company’s IT landscape and design a roadmap to achieve it.
  • Service Desk & Infrastructure Management

  • Act as the primary contact for IT support, addressing technical issues, troubleshooting hardware / software problems, and ensuring timely resolution of user concerns to maintain productivity and service quality.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a scalable and secure IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems to support business operations and growth.
  • IT Governance & Operational Oversight

  • Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the performance and effectiveness of IT initiatives and operations.
  • Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), ensuring accountability and alignment with business goals.
  • Evaluate the value of current MSP relationships and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure IT initiatives support business objectives and customer needs.
  • Communicate technology strategies and progress to the executive team.
  • Leadership And Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and goals for team members, and provide coaching and feedback to support their professional growth.
  • IT Projects

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT-related projects.
  • Coordinate resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects align with business objectives and are completed on time and within scope.
  • Success Outcomes

    1-3 Months :

  • Assess Current IT Infrastructure : Successfully evaluate the existing IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, network architecture, and security protocols.
  • Identify Immediate Challenges : Quickly identify any pressing issues or inefficiencies in IT operations that require immediate attention, such as system vulnerabilities, outdated software, or inadequate cybersecurity measures.
  • Build Strong Relationships : Establish positive working relationships with key stakeholders across various departments to understand their IT needs and align IT strategies with organizational objectives, particularly collaborating with Compliance and Security teams.
  • Develop Improvement Plans : Develop and implement strategies to address critical IT issues, streamline processes, and enhance system performance.
  • 6 Months

  • Implement Improvement Initiatives : Successfully execute the improvement plans developed earlier, ensuring that IT operations are more efficient, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Optimize IT Budget : Work with finance and other relevant departments to optimize the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support organizational priorities while minimizing unnecessary expenditures.
  • Foster Innovation : Encourage innovation within the IT department by promoting a culture of creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : Establish and track KPIs related to IT performance, such as system uptime, response times, and customer satisfaction, to measure progress and identify areas for further improvement.
  • 9 Months And Beyond

  • Drive Strategic Initiatives : Lead the development and implementation of long-term IT strategies aligned with the organization's vision and growth objectives.
  • Enhance IT Governance : Strengthen IT governance frameworks to ensure that IT investments and initiatives are aligned with business priorities, risks are managed effectively, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Foster Collaboration : Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among IT teams and other departments to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and deliver value to the organization.
  • Evaluate Emerging Technologies : Stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the organization's industry and explore opportunities to leverage these technologies to drive competitive advantage and operational excellence.
  • Measure Impact : Evaluate the impact of IT initiatives on the organization's overall performance, including revenue growth, cost savings, and customer satisfaction, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize value delivery.
  • What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, including distributed / remote workforce and international experience with UK, EU, and LatAm in particular.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing technology strategies that drive business growth and innovation.
  • Deep expertise in infrastructure management, cybersecurity, software development, and IT governance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for leveraging technology to create value and competitive advantage.
