The Opportunity :
As the Specialist, International Recruitment, you will lead our efforts to attract and retain international talent at Maple Leaf Foods. You will have responsibility to oversee our LMIA applications and PNP nominations, making it easier for us to recruit internationally.
Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition and working within our International Recruitment Office (IRO) function, you'll work closely with our HR teams and external partners to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process. You will be known as the go-to person for coordinating the recruitment processes for foreign workers at our facilities across Canada and within our corporate offices in North America.
In this role, you'll manage all related documentation, reporting, and processes, and provide support in mobilization, settlement, and orientation of foreign nationals within the facility’s community. Your expertise will help us monitor and support compliance with immigration regulatory requirements, ensuring we stay on top of all necessary regulations.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life :
Recruitment Facilitation :
You'll coordinate the recruitment processes for employing foreign workers at our facilities across Canada. You will partner with international recruitment partners, and act as the liaison between external partners and local HR teams.
Support and Immigration Advisory :
Advise HR teams on best practices, revisions, and recommendations related to the utilization of federal and provincial immigration programs. At the employee level, provide learning sessions to support foreign nationals within the facility’s community.
Documentation Management :
You will be responsible for managing and organizing all immigration-related documentation, including the storage of records, reporting, and tracking of international recruitment processes. This includes handling documentation from agencies and foreign workers.
Compliance Monitoring :
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial immigration regulatory requirements, and consistent validation that all internal controls are being fulfilled. Provide internal and external audit leadership within Maple Leaf Foods.
What You’ll Bring : Formal Designation :
You are a Licensed Canadian Immigration Consultant, with extensive experience supporting employment-based immigration.
Recruitment Expertise :
Proven experience in leading internal mobility recruitment processes for international workers into Canada. Preference for experience leading employment-based immigration for front line workers (General Laborers, Industrial Meat Cutters, and Maintenance Teams.)
Experience with Federal and Provincial Programs :
Experience working with Federal and Provincial programs. Ideally, you are familiar with the intricacies of provincial immigration programs within Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
Organizational Skills :
Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, reporting, and processes efficiently.
Compliance Knowledge : A solid understanding of immigration regulatory requirements and the ability to monitor and support compliance.
Collaboration Skills :
Ability to work effectively with external partners and internal HR teams to provide a seamless experience through the entire employee lifecycle.
Communication Skills :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with various international stakeholders.
Innovation : Stay current on immigration trends and best practices, integrating emerging learning technologies to enhance program delivery.
Project Management :
Manage project plans, timelines, and resources to ensure successful program execution of our International Recruitment Office (IRO).
Blueprint Alignment :
