This role sits within Laurentian Bank.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources, the incumbent is responsible for providing advisory services and playing an influential role in all HR matters and issues for a given business line. They act as a facilitator in communication and collaboration between various stakeholders.
The incumbent plays a key strategic role in developing strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent. In partnership with the sector leaders they collaborate with, they optimize the organizational structures of the business lines to maximize overall company efficiency and performance. They are responsible for change management, implementing employee relations management, performance evaluation, benefits and compensation administration, and compliance with labor laws. Additionally, they identify training needs and organize development programs, in collaboration with the Organizational Development team, to ensure the continuous growth of employees and the organization.
Responsibilities
Supports managers and employees in their efforts related to the complete cycle of human resources activities, respecting their budgetary and operational constraints while complying with current laws.
Participates in the organization's strategic initiatives and represents the human resources function on various committees.
Acts as an expert in human resources management for the application of provincial and federal labor laws.
Provides support in performance management (employee evaluations, management of underperformance).
Ensures the implementation and adherence to the Bank's various programs within the sectors they collaborate with.
Actively participates in various projects approved by the Management Committee in line with the Bank's objectives.
Analyzes and recommends organizational changes in human resources management in line with the strategic directions of the served sector.
Contributes to promoting the human resources function by advocating best practices and being an ambassador.
As a generalist, they master all specialized human resources functions to simplify and properly guide senior executives in their decision-making.
Supports the more junior resources of the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in an appropriate field (human resources or industrial relations).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in HR support.
- Excellent level of French and intermediate level of English
- Thorough knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
