Job description

Description

Parsons is seeking a Construction Director in our for our Rail and Transit market. We’re looking for a candidate that has a desire to work on the development and execution of some of the best transit systems in the world! Specializing in transit infrastructure including station, guideway, tunnel and rail systems construction this key leadership role will lead transit projects in the Greater Toronto Region, including client management, construction management, staffing and all aspects of contract performance.

Responsibilities include :

  • Lead Construction Management Team for Transit Group
  • Providing expert advisory services in collaborative contracting models.
  • Support Parsons Rail and Transit bids and projects, as required
  • Manage Projects, contracts including financial reporting, staffing, identifying and delivering growth opportunities, and general project management functions
  • Act as Construction Lead for Metrolinx ECWE Project, including, but not limited to the following responsibilities :
  • construction planning and rail access planning;
  • field representation and monitoring across all construction sites including remote fabrication and production sites where key construction activities are being undertaken
  • construction coordination and interface management between Work Packages;
  • manage site condition, permitting, licenses and property acquisition risks retained by the Client
  • monitor submission and progress of Permits, Licenses, Approvals, and Agreements (“PLAA”) that are the responsibility of Work Package contractors;
  • monitor Work Package contractor performance and progress as well as contractors’ Commissioning Program to achieve Substantial Completion, including inspection, testing, verification, and acceptance of infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
  • provide construction advice to support budget management and cost control.
  • monitor and report on construction-related risks owned by Metrolinxnx or the Works Package contractors

Qualifications :

  • 20+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil / structural and / or industrial projects at domestic and / or foreign locations is preferred.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
  • Demonstrated effective managerial capability, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in a construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience).
  • Experience in collaborative contracting models is an asset.
