Job description

We are a growing polyurethane manufacturing company serving industrial and mining clients, specializing in high-performance wear parts and custom molded components. We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Production Director to support daily operations, production output, and ongoing product development.

This is a hybrid role combining shop-floor production (30–50% of the time) with operational and team coordination. The ideal candidate is technically inclined, organized, and comfortable working both with their hands and in a leadership capacity.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate directly in production (30–50% of time), including mold preparation, casting, demolding, finishing, and quality control.
  • Coordinate daily production schedules to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
  • Oversee reception and expedition: receive raw materials, verify packing slips, manage inventory locations, and prepare/coordinate outgoing shipments.
  • Assist in product development initiatives, including prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement of existing parts and processes.
  • Maintain production documentation, work instructions, inventory records, and quality control reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and proper handling of chemicals and materials.
  • Support troubleshooting of production issues and recommend process and tooling improvements.
  • Collaborate with management on capacity planning, maintenance needs, and prioritization of urgent orders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing; experience with polyurethane, plastics, rubber, or casting processes is a strong asset.
  • Valid Forklift License
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, molds, and production equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities between production and administrative/coordination tasks.
  • Basic understanding of quality control, measurement tools, and non-conformity handling.
  • Comfortable using computers for basic data entry, Excel, inventory, and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a small production team and management; French required, English an asset (for suppliers/clients).
  • Leadership potential and interest in growing into a higher-responsibility operations/production role.

Compensation and benefits

  • Starting wage: 28-34$/hour, full-time.
  • Performance-based bonuses available, tied to production objectives, quality, and reliability.
  • Group pension plan available after 12 months of continuous employment.
  • Basic insurance (health and/or life coverage) available after 3 months of continuous employment.
  • Possibility of progression toward a more senior Production or Operations management role as the company grows.

Titre du poste

Adjoint(e) directeur(trice) de production – Fabrication de polyuréthane
