• We seek the best professional, compassionate and reliable caregivers to become a part of our expanding team. We service clients in their home, hospitals, retirement homes and long-term care facilities throughout Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. As a caregiver, you are making a real and meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and their families. Responsibilities can include helping our clients with :
• Promoting client well-being
• Providing companionship and homemaking such as ~ meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, errand services, recreational activities, companionship with conversation
• Providing personal hygiene such as ~ bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Moving, positioning and transferring a client
• Providing elimination services ~ continence care
• Promoting healthy nutrition and fluid intake
• Transportation services
• Medication reminders
• Promoting exercise and physical assistance
• Mental stimulation
• Measuring vital signs
• Maximum weight to be able to lift or carry, push or pull; 20 lbs Job Requirements :
• Must have some experience working in-home care with the elderly population
• Providing care in an ethical, responsible accountable manner
• BC Certified Health Care Assistance ~ an asset
• High school or college diploma
• Have experience dealing with clients with dementia ~ an asset
• Must have a good command of English
• No history of criminal background
• Passionate about providing care for elders
• Must be compassionate, honest, reliable, confident and sociable
• Must feel confident in your ability to engage clients in activities and conversation
• Must be able to prep meals and make meals; some part-time clients will have no meals
