Kelly’s customer, a Canadian company, located in Burlington, ON, is looking for a Collections Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis. The Collections Analyst is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, contacting customers to recover overdue payments, resolving disputes, negotiating payment plans, and identifying potential risk accounts for collectability. This role requires maintaining detailed records, ensuring accurate reporting, and fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external customers. A customer-service-focused mindset is essential.
Responsibilities
- Review and manage a portfolio of accounts and contact customers to arrange payment.
- Maintain detailed account records of collection activities and dispute resolutions.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve issues affecting payments.
- Release credit holds (CLs) daily, addressing payments or requests for credit limit increases.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on branch issues and accounts on hold for management.
- Support legal collections by gathering required documentation for claims.
- Process incoming payments, including charge card transactions.
- Prepare write-off files with appropriate notes and documentation.
- Act as a liaison between customers and the sales team to resolve issues delaying remittances.
- Maintain professional, solution-focused communication with customers to ensure timely payments.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues.
- Address employee concerns promptly and constructively.
- Understand and adhere to ISO policies and procedures.
- Continuously evaluate, develop, and execute policies and programs to improve processes.
- Participate in conferences, seminars, and other educational opportunities.
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through publications and networking.
- Participate in committees and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- College diploma in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of B2B collections experience in a multi-location environment.
- Strong knowledge of account management, collections processes, and credit risk assessment.
- Collections experience in the construction industry is an asset.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and resolve issues efficiently.
Perks
- Work in a corporate environment – Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000 with benefits after a 3-month probationary period.
