Cruise Ship Terminal Control Room Operators - $26.25 - $28.40

What you'll do:

Our mission at Westguard to make people feel safe. As a Control Room Operator at the Cruise Ship Terminal at Canada Place you'll be actively monitoring CCTV for passenger flow and incoming vessels and dispatching on-site officers to attend areas of concern. You will be responsible for site access control; systems testing and maintenance as well as report writing of daily operations.

In this role, you will be working closely with and assisting the Duty Manager in daily cruise operations as well as coordinating security issues between the Port of Vancouver, Canada Place Operations, and Ceres Terminals Canada. You'll be dedicated to safety and maintaining a safe work environment for all by following all protocols, processes, and procedures, while taking steps to eliminate and minimize hazards.

Your skills:

• Previous work experience in customer service
• 1 year control room experience
• Must have excellent skills at multi-tasking
• Able to handle himself/herself in high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and write descriptive reports in English

Your qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a BC Security License (BST Sponsorship available)
• Ability to obtain Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC) or Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) clearance. Westguard will sponsor and submit clearances for those who do not have them.
• OFA 1 (Paid training will be provided for those needing to obtain certification)
