LOCATION AND ABOUT NHH
ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and accountable to the Chief Radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging (Radiation Protection Officer), the Sonographer, RDMS, will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations in accordance with the established ultrasound protocols. The Technologist will be expected to make independent decisions while performing these duties. The successful applicant will be required to assist with various interventional ultrasound procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- The applicant must be registered with the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Previous experience working in a hospital setting a definite asset, but not a requirement
- Previous recent related EPIC experience a definite asset
- Strong communication, organizational, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard
- Previous recent related GE Universal Viewer PACS experience a definite asset
- Must be capable of working closely with the medical staff of NHH
- Must be proficient performing all forms of diagnostic ultrasound procedures
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Responding professionally and appropriately in high stress and emergency situations
- Required to assist patients during the transfer to and from the Ultrasound table/stretcher, also may be required to move and/or transport hospital related equipment
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.
Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital operates a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
