Job Duties / Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)
Job Duties Job Duties Reporting to the Principal Researcher and employed by Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the Project Coordinator will play a central role in supporting a three-year community-based project that aims to explore and address the impacts of agricultural activities on land and human health, with a focus on resilience and relationship-building within a First Nations Land Code framework. This part-time position will ideally be based in the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation community, but Saskatoon or remote work from other locations in Saskatchewan will also be considered. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities
- Coordinate Project Activities : Work closely with Muskeg Lake Cree Nation departments, primarily the Lands Department and Health Department, to ensure efficient planning, organization, and execution of project activities.
- Collaboration with Living Labs Staff : Act as a liaison between this project and the Bridge to Land Water Sky project staff to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment of project goals.
- Field Activity Support : Assist in coordinating and conducting field activities related to the project’s agricultural and health-focused research objectives.
- Community Liaison and Navigator : Act as a resource for project staff in the community to facility meetings, events, and focus group sessions.
- Community Knowledge Dissemination : Facilitate community engagement and knowledge-sharing events, assisting in hiring / training students researchers, recruiting efforts, ensuring that research findings and progress are effectively communicated within the community.
- Equity and Capacity-Building : Foster a collaborative, community-centered approach that promotes equity and builds capacity within the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.
