This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and team development. The successful candidate will lead a team Material Handlers, manage inventory through SAP, and support daily production and shipping readiness while maintaining compliance with Health Canada regulations, SOX inventory controls and the Cannabis Act. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position requires a strong balance of hands-on leadership, technical proficiency in ERP systems, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory movements, executing cycle counts with precision, training staff, and driving consistent execution of SOPs and GPP standards.

This position is based out of Stayner.

What you’ll be doing:

Team Leadership & Daily Operations

  • Provide daily leadership and oversight to a team of Material Handlers, ensuring alignment with daily objectives, productivity standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all materials required for production and/or sales orders are accurately picked, staged, verified, and delivered to the appropriate production or shipping areas at the start of each shift.
  • Proactively coordinate and ensure all ad hoc material requests throughout the shift are fulfilled in accordance with internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to avoid production downtime.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence through hands-on coaching and team development.

Inventory Management & ERP Execution

  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of all inventory movements, including receiving, subcontracting receiving, Internal production receipts, internal distribution, and production support using ERP (SAP).
  • Maintain ERP data integrity by ensuring real-time and accurate inventory transactions.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts, ensuring 100% completion and a minimum of 99% accuracy. Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure warehouse operations are compliant with all Health Canada regulations, including accurate logging of inventory destruction, product returns, and rework, for reporting under the Cannabis Act.
  • Train team members on all applicable SOPs, SAP functions, Health & Safety policies, and cannabis compliance standards. Maintain audit-ready training records.
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

Health & Safety

  • Promote and uphold a safety-first culture, ensuring all team activities comply with company safety policies and regulatory standards.
  • Actively identify, report, and address health and safety concerns in collaboration with management and Health & Safety Representatives.

Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support operational goals through consistent use of systems, escalation procedures, and inventory control best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Inventory Control, Production, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance, to ensure seamless material flow and inventory accuracy.
  • Champion continuous improvement practices within warehouse operations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support and lead activities related to year-end physical inventory audit, by maintaining impeccable cycle count and product receiving documentation records.
  • Perform general warehouse duties including loading, unloading, organizing, labeling, and maintaining cleanliness of the warehouse area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Environment: (for production specific roles only)

  • Physically active role including walking, standing, crouching, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and using basic material handling equipment.
  • Exposure to potential allergens and temperature variations within the warehouse environment.
  • Overtime and weekend work required during year-end audit period or peak inventory periods.

You’ll need to have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or operations, preferably in a regulated, GPP or higher compliant environment.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is an asset.
  • Designations such as CPIM or PMAC/CPP are considered strong assets.
  • Proficient with SAP or similar ERP systems; advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices, ERP workflows, and regulatory requirements under the Cannabis Act.
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and lead staff while fostering a culture of accountability and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Must be able to pass a clear Criminal Record Check.

We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, and we welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities and people with diverse backgrounds, identities, and cultures. For candidates with disabilities, accommodations are available upon request in all phases of the selection process.
