Summary

Tarkett is seeking a hands-on EHS Manager to help develop, establish, and maintain an environmental health and safety program that strives to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements, and provides for a safe work environment that is free of hazards in pursuit of zero work-related injuries / illnesses, using a behavioral based approach. This role is located in Farnham and reports to the Operation Site Director.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary EHS support for the site, responsible for all aspects and EHS reporting
  • Act as the primary voice for safety and environmental support for the site
  • Assists with all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety program.
  • Ensure compliance to all Safe Work Practices (SWP), regulatory standards (CNESST, code du batiment ) and plant policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training / assessments / audits / investigations as an important part of the World Class Manufacturing management system
  • Responsible for the ISO EHS requirements as determined by standard, and audit process for continued certification
  • Formulate and deliver safety training presentations and training for both small and large audiences, hourly and salaried.
  • Deliver EHS orientation to new and temporary associates.
  • Assist in ensuring proper training and compliance to plant EHS policies and procedures involving contractor / vendor personnel.
  • Perform, document, and trend behavioral-safety observations.
  • Analyze data and perform trending analysis to identify and implement corrective actions as well as develop strategic risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in maintaining assorted databases and software programs in support of the EHS Department and Plant EHS initiatives.
  • Write up the Plant's monthly and annual reports
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of equipment, workstations, etc. as needed.
  • Research safety equipment for its application and purchase.
  • Assist in personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and trials as well as to ensure its proper use, maintenance and storage.
  • Responsible for workers compensation claim management and return to work programs.
  • Serve as an EHS Champion in furthering "Safety First" culture.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Safety, Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline desired.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in environmental, health and safety, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of all local, provincial and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting, air permitting, and hazardous waste management.
  • Knowledge of workers compensation law. Knowledge of light duty / return to work programs.
  • Demonstrates strong root cause and corrective action skills. Advanced ability to facilitate RCCA problem-solving sessions.
  • Excellent bilingual (French and English) verbal and written skills to include technical writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentations skills are essential.
  • Must be able to interact well at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office environment.
  • To be able to work irregular hours including evening and weekends to accommodate the needs of a 24 / 7 manufacturing operation.
  • To spend significant time working on the plant floor.

    DESCRIPTION / OBJECTIF : Tarkett recherche un gestionnaire EHS pour aider a developper, etablir et maintenir un programme de sante et de securite environnementale qui s'efforce de repondre ou de depasser toutes les exigences reglementaires, et qui offre un environnement de travail sur, exempt de dangers, dans la poursuite de zero blessure / maladie liee au travail, en utilisant une approche basee sur le comportement.

    TACHES PRINCIPALES :

  • Agir en tant que principal soutien EHS pour le site, responsable de tous les aspects et rapports EHS.
  • Agir en tant que voix principale pour le soutien en matiere de securite et d'environnement pour le site.
  • Assister a tous les aspects du programme de sante et de securite environnementale.
  • Assurer la conformite a toutes les pratiques de travail securitaires (SWP), aux normes reglementaires (CNESST, code du batiment) et aux politiques et procedures de l'usine.
  • Mener des formations / evaluations / audits / enquetes dans le cadre du systeme de gestion de la fabrication de classe mondiale.
  • Responsable des exigences ISO EHS determinees par la norme, et du processus d'audit pour la certification continue.
  • Formuler et dispenser des presentations et des formations sur la securite pour des petits et grands groupes, horaires et salaries.
  • Dispenser une orientation EHS aux nouveaux associes et aux associes temporaires.
  • Assister a assurer une formation adequate et la conformite aux politiques et procedures EHS de l'usine pour le personnel des entrepreneurs / fournisseurs.
  • Effectuer, documenter et suivre les observations de securite comportementale.
  • Analyser les donnees et effectuer des analyses de tendances pour identifier et mettre en uvre des actions correctives ainsi que developper des strategies de reduction des risques.
  • Assister a la maintenance de diverses bases de donnees et programmes logiciels en soutien au departement EHS et aux initiatives EHS de l'usine.
  • Rediger les rapports mensuels et annuels de l'usine.
  • Mener des evaluations ergonomiques des equipements, postes de travail, etc. selon les besoins.
  • Rechercher des equipements de securite pour leur application et achat.
  • Assister a la selection et aux essais des equipements de protection individuelle (EPI) ainsi qu'a assurer leur utilisation, maintenance et stockage appropries.
  • Responsable de la gestion des reclamations d'indemnisation des travailleurs et des programmes de retour au travail.
  • Servir de champion EHS pour promouvoir une culture de "Securite d'abord".
  • QUALIFICATIONS ET EXPERIENCE :

  • Diplome en securite, sante industrielle, sciences de l'environnement, hygiene industrielle ou discipline connexe souhaite.
  • Minimum de cinq ans d'experience en environnement, sante et securite, de preference dans un environnement de fabrication syndique.
  • Solide connaissance de toutes les reglementations locales, provinciales et federales en matiere de securite et d'environnement.
  • Connaissance des rapports reglementaires, des permis d'air et de la gestion des dechets dangereux.
  • Connaissance de la loi sur l'indemnisation des travailleurs. Connaissance des programmes de retour au travail / travail leger.
  • Demontre de solides competences en analyse des causes profondes et en actions correctives. Capacite avancee a animer des sessions de resolution de problemes RCCA.
  • Excellentes competences bilingues (francais et anglais) verbales et ecrites, y compris la redaction technique. Travail qui demande une constante communication avec les Etats-Unis
  • Competences interpersonnelles et de presentation essentielles.
  • Doit etre capable d'interagir a tous les niveaux de l'organisation.
  • Competences informatiques avancees dans l'environnement Microsoft Office.
  • Capacite a travailler des heures irregulieres, y compris le soir et les week-ends, pour repondre aux besoins d'une operation de fabrication 24 / 7.
  • Passer un temps significatif a travailler sur le terrain de l'usine.
