Formation et culture de sécurité – Offrir des formations attrayantes en matière de santé et de sécurité à tous les employés, à tous les niveaux, en renforçant les meilleures pratiques et les procédures d'urgence adaptées à chaque site. Mener des initiatives visant à améliorer la culture de la sécurité, la sécurité comportementale, l'engagement des employés et la responsabilisation à tous les niveaux.
Gestion des incidents – Mener et diriger des enquêtes sur les incidents, des analyses des causes profondes, des plans d'actions correctives et assurer le suivi des vérifications.
Collaboration et communication – Collaborer avec les services opérationnels, les ressources humaines et l'ingénierie afin d'intégrer la sécurité dans tous les aspects de l'activité. Représenter SMARDT lors des audits et des inspections menés par les organismes de réglementation. Collaborer avec les équipes de production, de maintenance, d'ingénierie, de qualité, de ressources humaines et de chaîne d'approvisionnement afin d'assurer la cohérence opérationnelle et l'atténuation des risques. Gérer les programmes de sécurité des sous‑traitants, la sécurité des visiteurs et les exigences d'accès au site.
Préparation aux situations d'urgence – Diriger et maintenir les plans d'intervention d'urgence, les procédures de gestion de crise, les programmes de prévention des incendies et organiser régulièrement des exercices pour garantir la préparation.
What You’ll Be Responsible For (English)
Safety Leadership – Lead, develop, and execute the company’s EHS strategy, policies, and procedures across all manufacturing sites in North America. Design, implement, and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental programs and policies in line with CNESST, OSHA, EPA, and ISO 45001 standards. Conduct site audits, inspections, 5S / Safety walks, compliance assessments, and reporting to leadership. Drive the development of safety KPIs, dashboards, and metrics; report performance to Executive Leadership and Corporate teams.
Risk & Compliance Management – Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments, develop corrective action plans, and ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations in both Canada and the U.S. Oversee Risk Management programs, including risk assessments, JHAs, machine guarding, hazardous energy control (LOTO), confined space, hot work, fall protection, and emergency response procedures. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, air emissions, refrigerant handling, chemical storage (WHMIS / GHS), and sustainability guidelines. Support and prepare for internal, customer, governmental, and certification audits.
Training & Culture Building – Deliver engaging health and safety training to employees across all levels—reinforcing best practices and emergency procedures tailored to each location. Lead initiatives to improve safety culture, behavioral safety, employee engagement, and accountability at all levels.
Incident Response & Investigation – Conduct and lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action plans, and follow‑up verifications.
Collaboration & Communication – Partner with operations, HR, and engineering to embed safety into every aspect of the business. Represent SMARDT during audits and inspections with regulatory bodies. Partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain teams to ensure operational alignment and risk mitigation. Manage contractor safety programs, visitor safety, and site access requirements.
Emergency Preparedness – Lead and maintain emergency response plans, crisis management procedures, fire prevention programs, and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness.
Votre Profil (French)
Diplôme universitaire en santé et sécurité au travail, en ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe.
Minimum 7 ans d’expérience dans un rôle en santé et sécurité dans le secteur industriel, manufacturier ou HVAC.
Maîtrise des réglementations en santé et sécurité au Québec (CNESST) et aux États-Unis (OSHA).
Certifications CRSP et / ou CSP fortement souhaitées.
Aisance avec la suite Microsoft Office et les logiciels de gestion en SST.
Bilinguisme français / anglais – parlé et écrit.
Excellentes aptitudes en leadership, communication et résolution de problèmes.
Volonté et capacité à voyager régulièrement entre Montréal et Plattsburgh.
Disposition à fournir un soutien pratique et axé sur le champ de travail ; forte présence dans la zone de production.
What You Bring (English)
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in a health & safety role within industrial, manufacturing, HVAC, or related sectors.
Solid understanding of Québec CNESST, U.S. OSHA, and cross‑border regulatory requirements.
CRSP and / or CSP certification strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
Fluent in French and English – spoken and written.
Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Montréal and Plattsburgh.
Willingness to provide hands‑on and field‑oriented support; strong presence on the shop floor.
