As an early-stage contract research organization (CRO), our work supports Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) programs to assist in the discovery and development process of new drug therapies.     Job Summary We are actively seeking an Animal Health Technician-DART (DART-Toxicology Technician) to join our team and continue our work while maintaining the highest standard of animal welfare in mind.As a Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology Technician ( DART), you play an important role in the proper conduct of a study. You will be directly responsible to carry-out activities with animals as a part of a study plan in order to asses the safety of a specified drug. Working closely with Team Leaders, your fellow technicians, and Study Directors, you will collect data from on-going studies and report on observation and findings.   General Responsibilities  Sets up animal rooms for DART studies (including supplies and equipment).Performs activities related to general animal husbandry : animal handling, feeding, and ensuring maintenance of a clean and healthy environment.Administering therapeutic agents through various routes.Collects biological samples (ex. blood).Participate in training to develop advanced animal related competencies.Collects biometric data on DART studies.Records and reports changes in animal health through observed clinical signs.Uses, maintains and calibrates equipment.Keeps meticulous daily records and adheres to SOP's (Standard Operating Procedure) and GLP's.Reports immediately any unforeseen issues to the Team Leader and Veterinarian Services.Perform any other study related duties as required.  Requirements    At least 3 years of experience with the in-life set up and conduct of DART (developmental and reproductive toxicology ) studies (segments I, II and III) in addition to experience in identifying abnormal lesions of the female reproductive system and fetal malformations (visceral, skeletal, etc.). College diploma in Animal Health Technology, college diploma or bachelor's degree in Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Veterinary, Nursing or equivalence.Experience in handling animals is a definite asset.Experience in a laboratory or other scientific environment is a plus.Must be available to work full time : 37.5 hours / week.Able to work flexible timelines and additional hours including evenings and weekends.Must be able to push, pull, carry weight up-to / around 20kg (44 lbs).Must have good attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and high sense of responsibility.Ability to read and write in English, bilingualism an asset.  ITR Laboratories Offers You  Job stability (permanency).Company issued uniform and safety equipment (PPE).ITR Day- paid.Group benefit coverage (health insurance plan and group RRSP).Dental insuranceVisual insuranceLife insuranceAdditional health coverageRRSP with employer contributionA stimulating and friendly work environment.On site training programs and career advancement opportunities.Free parking on location.Company events.To apply, please visit the Careers section of our web site or go to : https : / / www.itrlab.com / careers /  and include a cover letter with your Curriculum Vitae.Start Date : ASAP
