Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is inviting applications for casual positions of Skating Instructor in the Recreation Programming division of Parks & Recreation. For more information on recreation programs, you can visit our website: http://www.halifax.ca/rec/.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of the Skating Head Coach, provide instruction of the weekly skating program following the premade lesson plans.
- Responsible for greeting participants, leading activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants.
- To evaluate participants using a standardized assessment tool.
- To maintain excellent customer service communication with instructors, parents and participants.
- Conditions of Employment: Strong Skating ability and understanding of skating techniques
- Experience working or volunteering with children and youth in a recreational setting (if applicable)
- First Aid Certification.
Please note – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge. Candidates, who are selected for testing, may be tested in a group setting, scheduled at the employer’s discretion.
