Duties and Responsibilities: Implement the design concept through the preparation of electrical detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Design and prepare layouts and specification for lighting, electrical distribution (single line diagrams), emergency power distribution, fire alarm, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, cable, and panel schedules.
Work alongside the project team and Project Manager to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements: Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
- 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is an asset.
Work experience designing HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems.
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code (OBC), and the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), etc.
Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
