Public Policy Analyst
Fortis Inc. (FTS / NYSE : FTS) has an exciting opportunity to join its team as a Public Policy Analyst.
We are inviting applications from Government Relations and Public Policy professionals who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications and Government Relations, the successful candidate will be an integral Communications and Government Relations team member.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop an understanding of the impacts of Canadian and United States' energy, climate, and broader business policies on Fortis and its subsidiaries.
- Monitor and analyze government programs, legislation, and public policy activities.
- Prepare internal briefing notes and other communications materials to ensure awareness of public policy developments.
- Develop and track government relations plans and activities that help reach our energy, climate, and business goals.
- Prepare policy position papers in response to federal government and industry consultation processes.
- Liaise with and coordinate government relations efforts with subsidiary companies, including government relations, regulatory, public policy, and communications teams.
- Other related duties as assigned.
