Progressive Steps is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental or communication needs. Services may be delivered in-home, in-centre, community-based, or virtually.

Progressive Steps Training & Consultation Inc. is a neurodiversity-affirming, interdisciplinary practice providing home-based, community-based, and centre-based services in Durham Region, East Toronto, and York Region. It specializes in supporting autistic individuals and those with developmental and communication needs through ABA, speech-language, and occupational therapy. Mission of this Role
As a Speech-Language Pathologist at Progressive Steps Training & Consultation Inc., your mission is to provide high-quality, neurodiversity-affirming speech and language services to children, adolescents, and adults with Autism and other developmental or communication needs. You will assess communication strengths and needs, implement evidence-based interventions, support caregivers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and enhance each individual’s ability to communicate meaningfully in their daily environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1 : 1 and small group speech-language therapy (expressive / receptive language, articulation / phonology, AAC, fluency, social communication, early language, functional communication).
- Conduct standardized and functional communication assessments and write clear, practical reports and recommendations.
- Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans and communication goals in collaboration with clients and families.
- Offer caregiver training and consultation on communication strategies and AAC use.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (SLPs, OTs, behaviour analysts / therapists) and participate in case discussions.
- Complete timely, high-quality documentation in accordance with CASLPO and Progressive Steps policies.
