Job description

Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Full-Time Driver to join our team. The shifts are Monday - Friday 6 : 30am - 3pm. The wage range is $24 - $25.50 per hour, based on experience plus up to $3 per unit in delivery bonus.

Responsibilities

Driving 3 ton and 5 ton cube vans
Deliveries of doors and other building products as dictated by the needs of the business
Superior customer service while driving and delivering materials and products
Perform safety pre-trip inspections on Slegg vehicles
Loading and unloading of trucks
General housekeeping duties, or various yard and warehouse tasks as required or directed by management
Assist shipper with loading and unloading of trucks
Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency
Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites
Verify load security and accuracy
Perform call aheads for each delivery
Maintain contact with shipper and work to resolve issues as they arise
Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Previous driver experience

Flexible work hours each day in order to complete necessary delivery orders

Fall protection is an asset

Minimum valid Class 5 BC Drivers licence

Forklift operation experience an asset

Physically demanding, must be able to lift heavy products

A positive can do attitude is essential

The Location - Door Shop, 1210 Chidlow Connector Rd.

Our Langford Store and Door Shop are conveniently located on a major transit route just off of Sooke Road past the Luxton Fairgrounds. The Door Shop provides the production team with state-of-the-art equipment for manufacturing interior and exterior residential and commercial doors.
