Job descriptionMechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent. Candidates must provide proof of degree completion. If obtained outside Canada, an Education Credential Assessment showing Canadian equivalency is required. Understanding of typical controls logic. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience; Green or Black Belt certification preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills. Experience with 8D and 5Why problem-solving methods. DMAIC project methodology experience. Experience with various generations of Atlas Copco fastening systems is an asset. Maintain and document plant floor fastening equipment per PTP 07-111 standards. Develop and adjust fastening strategies based on process data and ME fastening template PTA-480-ME-1. Troubleshoot and resolve fastening rejects. Address FTT issues. Assist with repair and testing of fastening equipment in the gun room IMM. Optimize fastening programs for cycle time. Investigate fastening-related warranty issues. Work towards long-term reduction of socket costs per engine. Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activities. Drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, and productivity. Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to improve manufacturing processes and products related to fastening. Support ISO 14001 (QS 9000) compliance and internal audits. Identify throughput constraints and implement root cause solutions. Coordinate with Essex Engine Fastening Engineer for vacation coverage.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in an Engineering Specialist – Process or Engineering Specialist – Controls position.
- Proven data analysis capabilities using Minitab and Qualityworx for large data sets.
- Machine / Fastening troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with AutoCAD.
- Understanding of machining processes, especially thread forming.
- Knowledge of bolted connections, sources of variation, and the relationship between torque, clamp load, and friction.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for machine issues.
Preferred Requirements
Successful candidates must provide proof of highest education level. For degrees obtained outside Canada, an Education Credential Assessment showing Canadian equivalency is required.
