Position Description :
We are seeking a Cloud Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the availability, security, and performance of our cloud-based systems.
Location : Ideally to be situated in the Montreal area, but also open to Toronto, Ottawa and Saguenay.
Clearance : This role requires to have or have the ability to obtain SECRET level Government of Canada Security Clearance.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- Manage cloud infrastructure components, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security resources.
- Manage container infrastructure components
- Provide expertise and leadership regarding Cloud for both infrastructure and applications in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Cloud services, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and ensure business continuity for critical applications and data.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance standards.
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Solve exciting technical challenges by analyzing, troubleshooting, and designing vital services, platforms, and infrastructure while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance.
- Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of the production services you collaborate with.
- Help build a Site Reliability Engineering culture across the organization by sharing your best practices, approaches, documentation, and code with other engineering teams.
- Document your system knowledge as you acquire it over time, create runbooks, and ensure critical system information is readily available to those who need it.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
