CHIEF OF SURGERY (MD / DO / FACS ) : MidAtlantic location

Seeking a talented general surgeon with stature in their field who is still clinically active as Chief of Surgery for a community-based health system with Level II trauma center flagship and surgical residency program, to lead the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams across the spectrum to achieve optimal function in Surgical Services. In this role, you will be part of a triad to include nursing and anesthesia, to lead surgical programs, providing strategic insight related to quality of care, patient outcomes, cost-effectiveness, diplomacy, and culture.

In addition, the Chief of Surgery will participate in medical education programs, hospital research efforts, evaluating surgical personnel, and looking for quality improvement opportunities for the hospital surgical staff.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Board Certified Surgeon; clinically active in general surgery.
• FACS
• Masters preferred or equivalent leadership experience.
• Past leadership experience as medical director or other leading other surgeons and successful collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong business and clinical acumen.
• Data driven, quality focused, surgeon leader with past experience successfully leading strategic initiatives for the overall benefit for surgery department and organizational strategic initiatives to drive volume, efficiencies, and quality initiatives.
• Minimum of 12 years as accomplished surgeon.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a health system to navigate complex matrixed environment.
