Job Description : Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Area Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in themaintenance of contracted assets (roadways, vegetation, etc.) as directed by the Area Supervisor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Removal of snow and ice by using snow removal equipment
• Assist with loading and unloading of winter materials
• Maintain highway and other surfaces by removal of litter and debris
• Operate vehicles and equipment as required : for surface and right-of-way maintenance tocontrol vegetation appearance and growth.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk on a wide range of surfaces; use hands tofinger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl,and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, use manual and powered pneumatic,hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include close and distancevision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weatherconditions including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / orhumid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to toxic orcaustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles / rodents, thenoise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate
