Our client is a successful public company with global operations and an industry leader in the healthcare sector. With recent acquisitions, the company continues to grow and is looking to hire a Controller to oversee the accounting function at its two Montreal locations. This position will work out of both Montreal facilities, with one facility near the downtown area and the other in Pointe-aux-Trembles.
Responsibilities :
Overseeing and completing all aspects of accounting for the two Montreal plants, including invoicing, payroll, receivables and payables.
Preparation of the monthly financial reporting package and assistance with requests from Corporate Office.
Working with Operations and Corporate Office to implement and oversee internal control framework.
Working with Operations to monitor cost overruns and provide analysis.
Preparation of quarterly reporting and annual audit requests.
Leading the forecasting and budgeting processes for Montreal.
Providing recommendations and implementing new processes to ensure best practices.
Liaise between Corporate Office and Operations.
Developing strong customer relationships including through invoicing, responding to customer requests and receivables follow up.
Support and oversee Human Resources Manager and other office administrative functions.
Assist with other projects as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience :
A CPA designation is required.
Strong communication skills in both English and French.
Minimum 3 years experience in an accounting / finance role.
Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Experience with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Great Plains considered an asset).
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize the demands of two plants.
Self-motivated and able to maintain deadlines for closing processes and project timelines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
