The Field Director will oversee projects in BC’s Interior Plateau, with work extending across various regions of BC and Western Canada, along with opportunities for research. As our Field Director, BC, you’ll ensure the excellent, efficient, and effective execution of AIAs, PFRs, and Systematic Data Recovery in BC.
Must haves :
- Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology
- 5+ years' experience in BC archaeology
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Field Director in good standing with the Archaeology Branch of BC
- Proficient in Word, Excel, ArcGIS
- Prior related experience identifying areas of archaeological potential and sites
- Ability to travel to locations for extended periods
- Ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather conditions and diverse / rugged terrain
- Ability to perform manual labour, including hiking for extended distances (average 8 to 10 km per day), and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Strong oral and written communicator
- Strong leadership skills
- Self-motivated with strong initiative
- Ability to work cooperatively, support and coach co-workers in a positive team environment and share work expertise and knowledge
