What is the Opportunity?
The Manager, Membership & Fundraising Events is responsible for raising funds in support of The Royal Conservatory and its programs through the planning and execution of exceptional fundraising events and the implementation of an engaging membership program.
The Manager conceptualizes events aligned with organizational objectives and is responsible for securing sponsors, table and ticket purchasers, as well as ensuring the successful execution of multiple fundraising events each year. - Develop, implement and execute exemplary fundraising and engagement plans and strategies to meet the organization’s revenue objectives for event fundraising.
- Manage and execute all aspects of fundraising event organization, including but not limited to event ideation, budget, sales, sponsorship, in-kind contributions, critical path, logistics, programming and volunteers, with a view to maximize revenue generation and minimize expenses while producing a high-quality experience.
- Secure sponsorships and gifts, conduct event ticket sales, and coordinate solicitations both independently and within a broader senior volunteer and staff team.
- Oversee and work in cooperation with RCM departments responsible for event logistics, as well as negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers when needed.
- Oversee and coordinate timely donor communications, including event invitations, stewardship and guest responses.
- Develop, evaluate and propose new event ideas and initiatives to support revenue generation and ensure all events are evaluated with a view to appropriateness, feasibility and cost effectiveness.
- Manage a portfolio of existing and potential fundraising events, within annual budget allocation.
- Work in conjunction with the Senior Director, Annual Giving on the recruitment, development and ongoing management and support of senior volunteers, committees, and event volunteers to support events.
- Develop a comprehensive prospect pipeline and implement new initiatives to broaden the RCM events demographic.
- Identify and develop data and reporting tools needed to ensure effective and comprehensive event planning, execution and analysis.
- Be aware of new fundraising industry trends, issues and opportunities.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
