Job description
Intermediate Mechanical Designer Location: North Bay, Ontario Job Type: Full-time, On-site Compensation: $28–$34 per hour Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:00 am – 4:30 pm; Friday 7:00 am – 11:00 am Position Summary The Intermediate Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs and drawings in support of engineering projects. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver accurate and efficient design solutions. Key Responsibilities - Prepare 2D and 3D mechanical designs and detailed drawings using CAD software - Develop layouts, assemblies, and component drawings for manufacturing - Revise and update existing designs based on engineering changes - Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production staff - Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and specifications - Support fabrication and installation by responding to technical questions Qualifications & Experience - Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field - 3–7 years of mechanical design experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment - Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) - Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, and fabrication methods - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications - Excellent communication and organizational skills
