ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT :
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing monitoring and reporting financial and statistical information to support both internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures Cost Centre Managers and Executives receive timely accurate financial insights while also supporting executive meetings with analysis presentations and strategic input.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Review monthly divisional statements and consolidate quarterly forecasts.
- Analyze major revenue and expense items to ensure proper cut-offs accruals and budget alignment; provide variance commentary to managers.
- Monitor revenue trends and ensure forecasts reflect current patterns.
- Identify significant variances and trends; escalate to Financial Analysts as needed.
- Attend executive meetings; prepare presentations summaries and speaking notes; contribute insights on variances and operational issues.
- Import data and manage change requests in the ERP system.
- Prepare training materials and support onboarding of new managers and supervisors.
- Prepare allocations for quarterly year-end and business planning reports.
- Ensure divisional allocations are current and reflect operational cost drivers.
- Support collective bargaining with data analysis and agreement-specific insights.
- Assist with invoice creation and work order setup for various projects.
- Meet with external clients and assist in bid preparation to secure new business.
- Provide financial data and reports to support MTO and internal management.
- Allocate cost centers and GL structures for new business items.
- Provide insights on new business trends and support bid preparation.
- Analyze and recommend actions for what-if scenarios and government projects.
- Monitor results using budgeting and forecasting tools.
- Support implementation of financial improvement processes (e.g. cost models business cases).
- Proactively identify and resolve financial issues.
- Participate in operational and external work meetings to identify costing needs.
- Pull and analyze overtime reports to support divisional management.
- Assist in preparing business cases and FTE justifications.
- Run quarterly KPI reports to assess divisional performance.
